My Dubai Biz Trip - Day 6

27th December 2009, Friday. It was the best day in Dubai. We joined the Desert Safari Tour and City Tour with some other exhibitors from Malaysia. The Safari Desert Tour + City Tour was AED200 per person. I would consider this as a good bargain as we have asked several other tours which we have to pay for at least AED 165 for Safari Desert Tour only. Early in the morning we woke up and got ready to Safari. Erm... it was not too early too as we slept until 9 something...LOL. Ai Lee was the chef of the morning but I did not eat as I was afraid I would be too full and vomit during the tour. She said I did not want to give her face and try her food. LOL. Well, this was the breakfast she cooked for Mr Song and herself. The appearance looked quite good and I suppose the taste should be okay too..:-)

The trip was started with City Tour which we had to gather at Deira City Centre. The cheapest way to get there was Metro Train; AED4.50 per person. Cheap right? It was cheap if compared to taxi...:-) Since the Metro station was just 150m away from our apartment hotel, we took a Metro to Deira. Here are some of the pictures taken during the journey to Deira City Centre.

Well, along the whole journey of the city tour, our tour guide who was a Filipino kept explaining the places that we passed through. I could not really remember what he said. The very first place that we had visited was the Dubai Creek. We stopped there for about 10 minutes to take some pictures.

Then we visited the Dubai Museum. We supposed to go in to the museum but guess what happened? Our weird tourist did not know that the museum would only be opened after 2.30pm on Friday!! Doesn't it sound funny? He was the tour guide and I suppose he should know all the timing right? We just managed to take some pictures at outside of the museum only.

Then we visited a building that I did not what is the name. There were some expensive antiques and shawls to be sold. We also stopped nearby at the Jumeirah Mosque to take some picture. Mr Song was saying that Dubai have a lot of Muslim but their mosques were not as big as ours. Our government really had spent a lot of money in building mosques in Malaysia.

After that, we dropped by at the beach side. From there, we could see Burj Al Arab, the award winning and the only seven star hotel in the world.

The next destination was Atlantis the Palm. Atlantis, the Palm is a resort at Palm Jumeirah in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. It is a joint venture between Kerzner International Limited and Istithmar PSJC and was opened on 24 September 2008. The resort is modelled after the Atlantis, Paradise Island resort in Nassau, Bahamas.

The city tour then ended by stopping at the Mall of Emirates to drop the tour guide and picked up some other people for the desert safari. It took about 40 minutes to reach the desert. It was a boring journey to there as everyone was sleeping. I did not sleep but just looking around. By right, we should reach the desert on time to watch the sun set, but we were quite unlucky as we could only see the sunset for 2-3 minutes only. May be we have wasted to much time on picking up people at the Mall of Emirates. Somehow, we still managed to take few pictures of the sunset the road side of desert. The weather was cold and nice.

Then we took a jeep for Dune Sand Driving. It was fun and exciting. I just love it. You could feel the excitement. Everyone should try it if go to Dubai.

During the Dune Driving, one of the jeep was stucked in the sand. Other jeeps were helping it to get out of the sand. And guess what? Ai Lee and I were busy taking pictures.:-P

After the Dune Driving, the jeep drove us to the campsite for the dinner party. The party was very fun as we could ride on a camel, enjoy the Henna Painting, smoke the Sheesha, enjoy the Belly dancing and some other performances. We were also served by BBQ dinner. In conclusion, I would say that the Dessert Safari was worthwhile.

The very first food was served. I did not know what is the name of the food but it was something like pita bread... It was quite tasty. May be I was to hungry at that time but Ai Lee said the taste was a bit weird.
Here are some of the pictures that we took during Henna Painting.....

Here were the pictures of Camel Rides...

We were enjoying the sand while waiting for camel ride. The was real cold... It's cool!

Here are the pictures of Sheesha smoking. Mr Song and I
